Our Ofri Office Pets
Cat content rocks the internet and our pets rock our remote life world at Ofri! Not all of our team members own pets but about half of us do. Find out why our support queen Silvia is also our pet queen, what Amina loves her cat for, how dog Ludwig inspired Pia to have deep respect for all dog owners, and how Sophie, Andrea, and myself adapted to remote work-life with animals and vice versa.
And of course, there are the pictures, you really HAVE to look at the pictures!! So cute!
Silvia – remote life with four cats and two dogs
“Life with four cats and two dogs is always fun. They offer always some relaxing moments during the work-day. Usually, they are waiting with patience for my breaks to get caresses or some snacks. They often play together in the house or outside in the garden. But it seems that they do not like our company meetings so much because it is usually during a meeting when my dog Murgo finds somewhere a pencil to bite, my cats get suddenly hungry and meow or all together fighting for a piece of paper on the floor...”
Sophie – the remote work pros Billy and Bella
Amina – a special kind of love
“I just see this little grumpy when I work from my parents’ place. He is a very special cat, always in a bad mood, never interested in what I am doing as long as I open the door to the garden for him and give him a snack every now and then during work time. He is a real cliché of a cat. But that's what I love about him.”
Pia – dog-sitting King Ludwig
“My friends wanted a mid-size dog and got this huge, funny, and wild one named Ludwig. I’ve dog-sitted him a couple of times and what shall I say - all the respect to all dog-owners. It’s really hard work but it pays off and my arm muscles grow as it can get really hard to hold 38kg full of power! “
Andrea – kitty on a hot tin roof
“Since we adopted our little orphan kitten at the beginning of June 2021, I haven’t been actually affected by a disturbance in my work. As our cat lives outside on our terrace and in our garden, he has no access to my office, computer, or other working tools.
But one day during lunch break we had a kind of dramatic situation because my children couldn’t find the cat anywhere. So the big search operation started including controlling the saved videos of our surveillance camera. In my mind, I had already prepared myself for what to say to my children, if the cat should really just be gone.
Gladly, we found him on the roof hidden in a perfect place, very hard to find. Besides that, he found it very funny placing himself into our flowers on the terrace so that my husband needed to find a protecting solution for them.”
Julia – the tumultuous journey of pet motherhood
“Little Fumfi was a teeny-tiny fellow when he came to live with me in February 2021. And oh boy – this has been a ride! Having a five-week-old ever peeing and pooping puppy at home after a lockdowny winter was a big challenge for me.
Fumfi pooping right behind me during a meeting? Check!
Fumfi biting his beloved bed, sponges, or whatever to pieces while I’m working in the other room? Check!!
Fumfi wanting to play while I had to finish something urgently and me feeling torn between responsibilities? Check!!!
After not even one week with him, I officially declared my new manifesto:
A trophy and secure old-age pension for mothers! All mothers, even the bad ones! My baby could walk already when I met him and no one ever expected me to breastfeed him but he still gave me an idea of the sacrifice motherhood requires – including coping with unsolicited advice from perfect strangers.
That being said – ohhh – just look at the pictures! He’s the cutest little devil ever!
And to me, a big little teacher about how to live and love truly well.”
